Imprint & privacy

Who is behind the atlas, how to reach us, and how we handle your data.

30 real elevation profiles of Austrian cycle routes, stacked.

Why radatlas exists

Cycle-route information online is often scattered, overloaded and buried under marketing, pop-ups and tracking - you spend longer looking for the map than for the way.

radatlas.at does it differently: a single, calm atlas of every named cycle route in Austria. Fuss-free, fast, accessible and bilingual - an honest map with a directory, elevation profiles, stages and GPX downloads. Nothing more, and nothing to distract.

The route geometry comes from OpenStreetMap and official sources; the base map and elevation profiles come from Austria's open government data (basemap.at and the digital terrain model). The photos are openly licensed. A route missing or something wrong? Get in touch - the contact details are right below.

Privacy

In short: we do not subject you to advertising tracking and build no profiles. Any optional audience measurement runs only with your explicit consent.

Controller

The controller under the GDPR is the media owner named above, reachable at hello@metaspots.net.

What data is processed

When you open the site, your browser transmits technically necessary data (IP address, timestamp, page requested), which the server keeps briefly in logs for delivery and security. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Third-party maps

The interactive map loads tiles from basemap.at and OpenStreetMap. Your IP address is transmitted to these services - technically required for the map to be displayed.

Cookies & local settings

We use no marketing cookies and no cross-site profiling. Your theme setting (light/dark) is stored only locally in your browser and never sent to us.

Audience measurement (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics (provider: Google Ireland Ltd.) for anonymised audience measurement. The Google tag is embedded via Google Consent Mode v2 and defaults to denied: without your consent no analytics cookies are set and no personal data is stored for measurement; only aggregated, cookieless signals are transmitted. Full measurement with a truncated IP address takes place only after your explicit consent via the cookie notice (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Data may be transferred to Google in the USA. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

Your rights

  • Access to the data stored about you
  • Rectification of inaccurate data
  • Erasure and restriction of processing
  • Data portability and objection

You may lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at).
